Marriage Notes
I've been married a month now, and by George, I love it. All of the advice and perspectives that were offered to Gina and me in the months leading up to our ceremony have all pretty much blended together into one general course of action: we love each other and try to respect each other, and everything else is falling into place. I agree with Joe, who told me shortly before he left the reception to get ready for the trip back to Ohio: "married life is great." (He didn't even pay me to repeat that.)
I mean, seriously. I can't put my finger on it, but I definitely felt different after the festivities had time to settle into memories while we were relaxing on the great adventure that was our honeymoon. Maybe it's just the fact that, even after years of dating, we're actually together (in both the eyes of the state and God). It's a strong, deep feeling. Of course we loved each other before, but now it's even bigger. I don't mean to get too sappy, but I will say that I highly recommend marriage with the right person. I've always believed in the sanctity of marriage, but experiencing it firsthand has no match.
Now, I just need to get finished with grad school ASAP so Gina and I can go globetrotting, saving the world with help from a dolphin (that we rescued from a killer whale) that leads us on crazy adventures every week. And we'll have an island base, too. And I will high-five the dolphin at every opportunity. USA!
